Purse Curse cares deeply about your privacy. Therefore, we only process data that we need for (improving) our services and handle the information we collect about you and your use of our services with care. We never share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.

This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services provided by Purse Curse. The effective date of these terms is 02/12/2024, and with the publication of a new version, all previous versions become invalid. This privacy policy describes which data about you is collected by us, how this data is used, and with whom and under what conditions this data may be shared with third parties. We also explain how we store your data, how we protect your data from misuse, and what rights you have regarding the personal data you provide to us.

E-commerce software

Our webshop is developed using WooCommerce software. Personal data that you provide to us for our services is shared with this party. WooCommerce has access to your data to provide us with (technical) support, but they will never use your data for any other purpose. WooCommerce is required by the agreement we have with them to take appropriate security measures. These security measures include the application of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. WooCommerce uses cookies to collect technical information related to your use of the software, but no personal data is collected and/or stored. WooCommerce reserves the right to share collected data within its own organization to further improve its services.

Our webshop is developed using WooCommerce software, and we have chosen Hostinger for our web hosting. Personal data that you provide to us for our services is shared with this party. Hostinger has access to your data to provide us with (technical) support, but they will never use your data for any other purpose. Hostinger is required by the agreement we have with them to take appropriate security measures. These security measures include the application of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Regular backups are made to prevent data loss.

Web hosting

We use web hosting and email services from Hostinger. Hostinger processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata about the use of the services, which does not involve personal data. Hostinger has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent the loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. Hostinger is obliged to confidentiality under the agreement.

Email and mailing lists

Our website uses MailerLite, a third party that handles the email traffic from our website and sends any newsletters. All confirmation emails you receive from our website and web forms are sent via MailerLite’s servers. MailerLite will never use your name and email address for its own purposes. At the bottom of every email sent automatically from our website, you will find the ‘unsubscribe’ link. By clicking this, you will no longer receive emails from our website. This may significantly reduce the functionality of our website! Your personal data is securely stored by MailerLite. MailerLite uses cookies and other internet technologies to track whether emails are opened and read. MailerLite reserves the right to use your data to further improve the service and, in this context, share information with third parties. For our regular business email traffic, we use the services of Hostinger. This party has implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent misuse, loss, and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. Hostinger does not have access to our mailbox, and we treat all our email traffic confidentially.

For processing (part of) the payments in our webshop, we use the MultiSafepay platform. MultiSafepay processes your name, address, and city information, as well as your payment details such as your bank account or credit card number. MultiSafepay has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. MultiSafepay reserves the right to use your data to further improve the service and, in this context, share (anonymized) data with third parties. All the above-mentioned guarantees regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of MultiSafepay’s service where they involve third parties. MultiSafepay will not retain your data longer than is permitted by the legal retention periods.

We collect reviews through the WebwinkelKeur platform. When you leave a review via WebwinkelKeur, you are required to provide a name and email address. WebwinkelKeur shares this information with us so we can link the review to your order. In some cases, WebwinkelKeur may contact you to provide further clarification on your review. If we invite you to leave a review, we share your name and email address with WebwinkelKeur. They only use this information to invite you to leave a review. Shipping and logistics

When you place an order with us, it is our responsibility to ensure that your package is delivered to you. We use the services of PostNL to carry out the deliveries. For this purpose, we need to share your name, address, and residential information with PostNL. PostNL will only use this information to fulfill the agreement. In case PostNL engages subcontractors, PostNL will also provide your data to these parties.

DHL

When you place an order with us, it is our responsibility to ensure that your package is delivered to you. We use the services of DHL to carry out the deliveries. For this purpose, we need to share your name, address, and residential information with DHL. DHL will only use this information to fulfill the agreement. In case DHL engages subcontractors, DHL will also provide your data to these parties.

UPS

When you place an order with us, it is our responsibility to ensure that your package is delivered to you. We use the services of UPS to carry out the deliveries. For this purpose, we need to share your name, address, and residential information with UPS. UPS will only use this information to fulfill the agreement. In case UPS engages subcontractors, UPS will also provide your data to these parties.

External sales channels

We sell (part of) our items through the platforms Marktplaats, Vinted, and/or Vestiaire Collective. If you place an order through one of these platforms, they will share your order and personal data with us. We use this data to process your order. We handle your data confidentially and have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from loss and unauthorized use.

Purpose of data processing

We use your data solely for the purpose of providing our services. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the assignment you give us. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use it to contact you at a later time, other than at your request, we will explicitly ask for your consent. Your data will not be shared with third parties, except to fulfill accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound by confidentiality agreements, either through the agreement between them and us, an oath, or a legal obligation.

Automatically collected data

Data automatically collected by our website is processed with the aim of improving our services. This data (such as your IP address, web browser, and operating system) is not considered personal data.

Cooperation with fiscal and criminal investigations.

In certain cases, Purse Curse may be required by law to share your data in connection with fiscal or criminal investigations by government authorities. In such cases, we are compelled to share your data, but we will oppose this to the extent possible within the legal framework available to us.

We will retain your data as long as you are a client of ours. This means that we will keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you make this request, we will treat it as a deletion request. This also means that we will not retain your data for longer than two years from the last contact or transaction, unless there is a legal justification for doing so. Due to applicable administrative obligations, we are required to keep invoices with your (personal) data, and we will retain these for the applicable period. However, employees will no longer have access to your client profile and any documents we have created in connection with your assignment.

Your rights

Under applicable Dutch and European legislation, you, as the data subject, have certain rights concerning the personal data processed by or on behalf of us. Below, we explain what these rights are and how you can exercise them. As a general rule, to prevent misuse, we only send copies and extracts of your data to the email address we already have on file for you. If you wish to receive the data at a different email address or by mail, we will ask you to verify your identity. We keep a record of processed requests, and in the case of a “right to be forgotten” request, we maintain anonymized data. All copies and extracts of data will be provided in the machine-readable format used in our systems. You have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority if you believe we are using your personal data incorrectly.

Right of access

You always have the right to access the data we process (or have processed) that pertains to you or can be traced back to you. You can make such a request to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a copy of all the data to the email address we have on file, along with an overview of the processors that hold this data, specifying the category under which we have stored it.

You always have the right to restrict the processing of data that we (or on our behalf) process, which relates to you or can be traced back to you. You can submit a request to this effect to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation to the email address we have on file, stating that the data will not be processed further until you lift the restriction.

Right to data portability

You always have the right to have the data we process and that relates to you or can be traced back to you, carried out by another party. You can make a request to that effect to our privacy officer. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you, to the email address we have on file, copies or excerpts of all data we have processed about you or have been processed by other processors or third parties on our behalf. In such a case, we will likely no longer be able to continue the service, as the secure linking of data files can no longer be guaranteed.

Right to object and other rights

You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of Purse Curse in certain cases. If you object, we will immediately halt the data processing pending the resolution of your objection. If your objection is justified, we will provide you with copies and/or excerpts of data that we (or third parties on our behalf) process and will then permanently cease the processing. You also have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in a manner that this right would apply to. If you believe this is the case, please contact our privacy officer.
